Current Health Educators 

Ashley, Health Educator 
When Ashley completed her B.A. in Social Development Studies, receiving a certificate in social work from the University of Waterloo, she then travelled to Alberta. Living there for two years, she worked and volunteered in the Social Work Field. This is where Ashley discovered her passion for helping people through communication, nonjudgmental understanding and education. She has now returned to Toronto and has received her post graduate certificate in Workplace Wellness and Health Promotion from Centennial College. Ashley is a certified Life Coach through the Coaches Training Institute which is accredited through the ICF. She has a strong interest in mental health and strives to help individuals in need.
 
Josie, Health Educator
With a BA in Sociology and Criminology at York University already under her belt, Josie is currently completing a second degree, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at McMaster University. Josie’s interests include exploring how Internet communities and virtual Support Groups mirror traditional communities and Support Groups in "real world" settings. She is especially interested in non-traditional means of health care delivery. When she’s not studying or busy posting in Evolution Health Support Groups, Josie enjoys spending her spare time with friends and family.
 
Samantha, Bilingual Health Educator  
Samantha’s lifelong involvement with health and wellness has driven her to a career in well-being. She has recently completed her post-graduate certificate in Workplace Wellness and Health Promotion where she gained knowledge in personal well-being, coaching, and stress management. Prior to her time at Centennial College she completed a Bachelor's of Physical Education at Brock University where she worked on various research projects in the Health and Behavioural Sciences lab. She has a strong interest in physical fitness, behavioural psychology, and as a personal trainer she enjoys motivating others to achieve their personal goals. 
 
Vincenza,  Bilingual Health Educator
Vincenza completed a 4-year professional program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she received designation as Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, and is licensed by the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy-Naturopathy in Ontario. Her areas of special interest include women’s & men’s health, sport medicine and neurological disorders.  As a naturopath, she is committed to providing individualized health care solutions that incorporate natural therapies such as acupuncture, nutrition, botanical medicine, hydrotherapy and homeopathy.  Prior to her career as a naturopath, she spent much of her time researching maps and planning adventurous hiking and biking trips.  Most of her travels abroad were in Europe where she was able to cultivate her French and Italian language skills.  Now back in Canada, she continues to bike and hike the streets of Toronto where she calls home.

Breanne, Bilingual Health Educator
Breanne is currently working towards completing her Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto. She's recently obtained her undergraduate degree from McMaster University in Gerontology and Psychology. Breanne has been exposed to and has experience working in many diverse health care settings, and from these experiences has developed a vested interest in healthy aging and overall well being. In her spare time, Breanne enjoys being active and walking and appreciates the benefits of being outdoors.

Brenna, Bilingual Health Educator
Brenna completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics with a focus on nutrition from the University of Guelph. Her academic background and extensive experience as a competitive swimming coach contribute to her strong desire to help guide individuals making lifestyle improvements through Evolution Health’s suite of eHealth programs. Her epidemiological approach to motivating and managing large groups of anonymous web-based social networks helps to connect people who experience challenges in modifying their behavior. In her spare time Brenna enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
 
Casey, Health Educator
Casey is an RN who is currently finishing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at McMaster University. With over ten years of nursing experience, Casey brings forth extensive knowledge and support experience to Evolution Health Support Communities. When away from Evolution Health Support Groups Casey is active in "real-time" Nursing Focus Groups within several community hospitals, and is interested in studying the benefits of providing anonymous and cost-efficient support services via the Internet.

Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator
Danielle is currently hard at work completing her Bachelor's degree in Nursing and her minor in Psychology. When she's not hitting the books, she's at the bedside. She has worked with patients in emergency, combined surgery, cardiovascular and respirology units. Recently, Danielle has turned her attention toward assisting families in providing care for their aging parents or their sick children. Danielle is especially interested in exploring how the Internet can be used to maintain treatment and lifestyle changes following expert intervention.

Faryal, Bilingual Health Educator
After completing her BA in Psychology, Faryal went on to study Naturopathic Medicine and graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and until recently, practiced in Montreal as well as in the Dominican Republic. Faryal has a deep passion and respect for the philosophy, art and science of natural medicines and their ability to stimulate the body’s innate ability to heal itself. Currently she is practicing at a wellness clinic in Burlington alongside the work she does at Evolution Health. Faryal continues to be a lifelong learner and is especially interested in integrating her knowledge and skills within the phenomenon of online support networks to help individuals with their health concerns.

Karen, Health Educator

Karen is currently working towards a degree in Nursing with a previous degree in Genes, Genetics, & Biotechnology.  Her passion lies in community health nursing with a street outreach focus - facilitating equitable access to safe affordable housing, health services, and health education for marginalized groups living in poverty.  Besides studying and outreach, she values time with family and friends and enjoys running outdoors.
 
Luciana, Bilingual Health Educator
Luciana is currently working on completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology and French Language from York University. She hopes to go on and pursue a post - graduate certificate in Holistic Nutrition. Luciana is very interested in working with people, and providing assistance when needed, as she has worked as a Flight Attendant, a peer adviser for fellow students, and a swimming / leadership classes instructor, in the past. In her spare time, Luciana enjoys camping, swimming, snowboarding, traveling or spending a quiet evening at home cooking for family and friends. 
 
Melanie, Health Educator
Melanie (RN) is currently working as a medical nurse with The Hamilton Health Science Corporation, specializing in medicine. She is also employed with Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Newborn and Post-Partum Care. One of her main interests is ETS (Environmental Tobacco Smoke) as it pertains to new mothers who are attempting to quit smoking. In her spare time Melanie enjoys participating in many sports, walking her golden retriever Winston, and spending time with her new husband.
 
Sarah, Health Educator
After completing her BA in psychology/ sociology at the University of Guelph, Sarah is now working towards her Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto. Working in a number of community and health care centers has taught Sarah the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and the value of caring for oneself and others. When she is not working or studying, Sarah enjoys painting, recycling, and running.
 
Susanne, Health Educator
Susanne (RN) has recently received her Registered Nursing Diploma from Humber College in Etobicoke, Ontario. Susanne is also a certified Personal trainer/Fitness consultant and has extensive experience in Reiki (touch healing). Her nursing knowledge, combined with her expertise in personal fitness, diet plans and stress reduction provides effective advice and support to all of our members. Susanne loves sports and was both an avid skier while living in Whistler British Columbia, and has played Women’s hockey in Canada and abroad.
 
Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator
Sylvie has recently completed her BA in Education with a concentration in Psychology from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario.   She is currently completing a post graduate certificate in Workplace Wellness and Health Promotion at Centennial College. Sylvie possesses a great understanding for the “upstream approach” to health and would like to see how it could possibly enable herself and others in need of guidance in achieving optimal health. In her spare time, Sylvie enjoys staying active and enjoying the great outdoors.
